Off Road Champion Endorses TPAC and Praises Local 4×4 Advocate

tpacAn off-road racing champion and long-time supporter of efforts to protect trail access on public lands endorsed The Trail PAC today.  Jason Scherer is the 2009 King of the Hammers Race winner and has captured the crown at many other OHV competitions.
King Scherer, states, “Access to our public lands is under a constant barrage of new laws, regulations, and planning efforts.  Off-road voters need legislators back in Washington D.C. to ride herd on federal regulators that are developing rules to restrict or ban OHV permitted events and trail riding with our family and friends.”
“Electing pro-trail candidates who will champion responsible OHV recreation is the most effective way to help secure long-term recreational access to public lands for current and future generations,” Scherer continued.
“While I support TPAC and do my best to bring awareness to my fan base, I feel the true heroes are folk’s like Ole Stortroen who selflessly attend land use meetings around the state on their own time should be honored and exemplified as they are the real warriors making a difference.  I’ve known Ole personally for over a decade and once he retired from the electrical industry he still had a full-time schedule from the numerous clubs including Esprit De Four, his setup and tear-down of Sierra Trek that raises funds for state and national OHV groups.  He is also in the shop working on our Ultra4 race car when he’s not out working on an adopt-a-trail from his numerous Jeep Clubs.  It’s people like Ole and Don that are in the trenches keeping our trails open and I hope they can be examples for all of us to follow in the future,” Scherer continued.
“I want to encourage my fellow competitors and riding buddies to get engaged in the 2016 presidential elections.  I am proud to, once again, endorse the efforts of TPAC to help elect politicians who will support our access to public lands,” Scherer concludes.
Jason Scherer is our 1st Off-Road Hero of this week-long event. TPAC is grateful to Jason for his support of grassroots advocacy and the political process.
