Alcon To Exhibit New Jeep Wrangler JK Brake Kit at MOAB Easter Jeep Safari

Alcon - Jeep JK Wrangler Brake Upgrade (1)Alcon, a global leader in the design, development and manufacture of brakes, clutches and actuation for motorsports, OEM, aftermarket, specialist and armored/military vehicles, will exhibit its new Jeep Wrangler JK Brake Kit during the MOAB Easter Jeep Safari to be held April 8–16 in Moab, Utah.

Three Jeep Wrangler JK’s equipped with Alcon front and rear brake kits will be on display in the Currie Enterprises and Rebel Off Road booths during the Jeep Safari’s vendor show. Alcon representatives will be on hand April 13 and April 14 to talk personally with JK owners to answer questions about Alcon brake kit design and performance.

Alcon’s JK Brake Kit has been extensively tested, with results showing several quantifiable gains compared with factory-fitted equivalents. The Alcon kit offers up to a 30% reduction in disc temperature rise, a significant 26% reduction in pad work rate and a corresponding upswing in pad life, and up to a 25% decrease in pedal effort.

The kit features Alcon’s industry-leading four-piston calipers, all coated in epoxy acrylic paint over an acid zinc finish—a combination that has proven to offer excellent corrosion protection. Front and rear calipers boast ductile iron housings which provide maximum strength and stiffness, plus high resistance to both impact and fatigue. Additionally, all calipers come with advanced wiper seals around each piston that are resistant to the extreme temperatures generated by hard braking and also prevent road grime from entering the caliper itself.

“Few four-wheel drive vehicles can claim to be as tough and dependable both on- and off-road as the iconic Jeep Wrangler,” said Alex Hargreaves, Alcon Head of Sales USA. “Alcon has designed a comprehensive brake upgrade kit for the JK-generation Wrangler that adds to that toughness and reliability.”

Alcon’s kit has been designed to make installation a fast and simple process, according to Hargreaves. The kit is compatible with the OE master cylinder and can fit behind many 17-inch and larger aftermarket off-road wheels. Both the rotors and pads included within Alcon’s Wrangler kit offer improved stopping power.

“The MOAB Easter Jeep Safari offers a great opportunity for 4×4 owners to see the features and benefits of Alcon’s braking products and hardware up close,” Hargreaves said.
